WAYS TO HELP
Samaritan’s purse has set up the following two locations to organize volunteer/relief efforts:
- Garywood Assembly of God in Hueytown, 2730 Allison Bonnett Memorial Drive: just show up early AM, wear long pants, heavy boots, gloves, sunscreen
- First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, 721 Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa, they have requested that volunteers call first: (205) 345-7554
Salvation Army
For victims of the tornado:
- Emergency help (205) 328-5656 or (205) 328-2420
- To receive donations, starting Monday May 2nd, come to 350 Industrial Dr, Birmingham M-F 9-5, Saturday 9-5, and Sunday 1-6. Please bring a photo ID and proof of residence if you have one available, if you don’t we will work with you.
- Bethel Baptist Church and Cottage Hills Church are offering shelter and clothing in the Pleasant Grove area
To Donate Money:
- Go to http://www.birminghamsalvationarmy.org/ and click on the donate button.
- Text “GIVE” to 80888 (this will be charged to your phone bill)
- Call 1-800-SAL-ARMY
- Drop a check in the mail to: P.O. Box 11005, Birmingham, AL 35202—please be sure to designate the check to “Alabama Tornado Victims”
